Practical life skills that improve confidence, wellbeing, and employability.

In the US, only a quarter of students are very confident that their school is doing a good job preparing them for the future. This, according to a Walton Family Foundation and Gallup survey. These young people are hoping for more hands-on learning that prepares them for their career ahead.

Equally concerning, in the survey only 15% of 18-26 year-olds said their mental health is excellent – a huge decline from over 50% ten years ago. This decline is largely attributed to social media and bullying.

Developing life skills such as self awareness, critical thinking and communication skills during high school years is proven to boost both wellbeing and employability (not to mention improving academic performance by 10-20%). These ‘human’ skills are rapidly becoming even more important as AI infiltrates many aspects of school and work.

The start of the school year is the time to set the tone for the year ahead, with life skills integrated into different aspects of learning and school life. It doesn’t have to involve dedicated ‘life skills’ classes. With our flexible online platform Persona Life Skills, modules can be teacher-led or self-directed. Useful and practical skill development can take as little as 10 minutes, or you can use the built in on-screen guidance and interactive features to deliver an engaging full lesson.

What makes Persona Life Skills unique is its personality insights approach. Students love it – as it's all about them, providing next level self-awareness as a starting point for personal development, from career-readiness with skillsets like time management, goal-setting and teamwork, to wellbeing with skillsets like open-mindedness, respect and empathy.
