The Science Behind Persona
Many personality insight systems have been developed over the years – going back as far as Hippocrates around 400 BC! Many of the most robust systems – including Hippocrates’ – are based on four sets of related characteristics, which influence how people think, communicate and behave.
Persona believes in keeping things practical. Their thinking framework is built around four descriptive, positive and memorable styles. The framework, algorithm and insights are all rooted in large scale empirical research by behavioral scientists, and were developed with UK government R&D grant funding specifically for young people.
Developing 22 Life Skills Across Six Skillsets
In conjuction with Pearson, Persona defined 22 social-emotional Life Skills, across six skillsets and three levels. These life skills empower young people to make better decisions and achieve more positive outcomes throughout life's challenges. Their age-appropriate curriculum builds pupils’ Life Skills starting at age 11, boosting wellbeing, academic success and future employability.
Level 1: Start - Where students gain a basic understanding of the Life Skills across different contexts and learn to recognize them.
Level 2: Apply - Where students learn how to apply the Life Skills in relevant scenarios.
Level 3: Challenge - When students challenge themselves to become more adaptable and start considering the needs of others as well as themselves.
